Sustainability-minded ceramic wares from Shiga, Japan. SSAN ceramics are rooted in the land, culture, and history of Shigaraki—recycled clay and new clay come together, fired with natural glazes into ceramics of quiet presence. The tactile surfaces and has been formed over generations, designed by nature, and refined for the modern table—carrying with them a circular relationship with the land, reminding us of our own connection to nature and the memories it holds.

Kimio Ogawa

As Kimio, the current owner, took control of the business, he began concentrating on production of plateware that reflects his own aesthetic, developed with influence from the tea utensils and vases passed down from the previous family generations. He now aims to provide customer-oriented services rather than larger scale production for wholesale orders.
